My investigation showed that late deliveries usually occur when a relief <br /> . Deputy is assigned to your city, Arden Hills is the only contract city which has its squad deliver the <br /> council mail; a relief Deputy either forgets the mail assignment or is not aware of the importance of <br /> this assigrunent. The last late delivery of council mail occurred on June 24th_ The Deputy working <br /> that evening said she did not receive a call from City Hall that the mail was ready_ If the Deputy <br /> would have checked, we would have found the mail ready for delivery. Again, this was a relief <br /> Deputy and we did not check with City HalL Your regular day shift Deputy found the error and <br /> delivered the mail on Sunday_ <br /> I have written a memo to be placed in the Arden Hills squad indicating that council mail is a regular <br /> task that must take priority over routine patroL This memo stresses the importance of timely council <br /> mail delivery and should solve the problem. In addition, a copy of this memo is being given to the <br /> afternoon and relief Sergeants_ The Sergeants should insure that relief Deputies understand the <br /> importance of timely council mail delivery. I apologize for the tardiness of some of the recent mail <br /> deliveries.
