. , NORTHWEST YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES (NYFS) 1993 SERVICE PARTICIPATION SUMMARY FOR THE: . CITY OF ARDEN HILLS Your city's contribution to the work of NYFS has once again made it possible for NYFS to offer help and hope to over 3,400 north suburban residents. In 1993, 510 local youth and families received mental health services and 34 young fathers received help which enabled them to emotionally and financially support their children. In addition, 246 first-time youth offenders completed community service restitution, 171 youth attended Awareness seminars, and 89 youth received delinquency assessments. A total of 265 youth received employment services, 354 youth received medical services, and 478 youth provided volunteer service to the community through the Youth Service Learning project. Although the needs of individual cities vary year to year, the need for the services provided by NYFS remains constant. Your participation makes it possible for NYFS to offer these essential services. Each service hour is charged out at a rate of S90/pcr hour. Billable Servacc Hours. are reflected in above grid. Young Fathers Program: The Young Fathers program seeks to assist young men. up to agc 23, in their role as falbers. The program provides support. infonnation, referrals, parent education and vocational assessment through group or individual, couple and family consultation. Each participant receives an avenge of 12 hours of group or individual counseling and support services in addition to 5 hOUlS of vocational/educational services. Cost per hour of service is S55. COl'Illllunity Restitution Services: Youths are placed on job sites within their home communities and each complete approximately 20 voluntee1' service restitution hours.
