l
,.
CITY OF ARDEN HILIS
. MEM::lRANDmoi
DATE: August 11, 1994
'IO: Dorothy Person, City }lnministrator
FRCM: Brian Fritsi:cger, Ccmmmity Planning Coordina~
SlJBJECT: Planning Case #94-19, Open Sale Lots
At its July 6, 1994 meeting, the Arden Hills Planning O:mnission
apprcved sorre revisions to the Zoning Ordinance which address open
sales lots. This revision was only one change recorrrrended by the City
Attorney to provide additional clarifications in the area of transient
merchants.
I had Mr. Filla review both Chapter 13 of Arden Hills Municipal Code
and the Zonillg Ordinance to determine if any additional changes are
required . The primary area that I requested his review was the "Cpen
. Sales Lots" definition.
Based on these discussions, I '-'OUld propose to !take sore minor changes
which '-'OUld avoid interpretation issues in the future. Item number
one (1) is part of Planning case #94-19.
l. Arrend Section II,D,125 of the Zoning Ordinance so that the term
"Open Sales Lots" is specifically included in the last sentence
of this definition. It '-'Ould read as folla.<lS; "... M:Jtor
Vehicle-Sales, M:Jtor Vehicle leasing and rentals, exterior
equipment rental and sales lots, repair garages and open sales
lots are not included in this definition of retail sales."
'The Planning O:mnission unanirrously approved the action at its July 6,
1994 meeting. Staff '-'OUld recarrrend that the City Council apprcve the
amendment to the z.<:>ning Ordinance as proposed by the City Attorney and
apprcve Ordinance Number 299 as drafted,
.
--- ..-------
