Political Signs - This past M:Jnday Dave Kriesel in acting as Enforcerrent <br /> Officer rerroved political signs fran several different pclitical candidates <br /> that were within the right of way throughout Arden Hills. Tuesday, Candidate <br /> Tan Fab:l's office questioned the rercova1 of these signs. They did care and <br /> pick up the signs for Fabel. There were allegations of prejudice by the <br /> City, inoonsistent enforcerrent and that there was no legal basis for any <br /> enforcerrent, <br /> Staff reviewed the issue with the City Attorney. The City sign ordinance <br /> adopted in 1993 identifies political signs as covered and provides that a <br /> pe:tmi.t is required (enclosed), The Ordinance also provides that the City nay <br />. irrpound signs placed on public property. Ramsey County and the State of <br /> Minnesota also send infortmtion to all candidates verifying that signs nay not <br /> b: placed in the right of way, If you have any concem please let us !mow. <br /> 2. A change in the tillE of VENID's rreeting - August 30 at 6 :30 p.m. at <br /> Bldg 105, TCAAP <br /> 3, Kent SUlem, attorney fran IM: for the City O:xie Reco.:lification, repcrts <br /> that he expects to have his first draft of changes to the City by August 20. <br /> Items that can be addressed are both administrative and substantive in nature, <br /> Kent will identify which areas he sees needing updates. <br /> The Staff will review these items with Kent over the next few weeks. <br /> Following this review, the Council will review the suggestions in order to <br /> create a final draft. <br /> 4. The Property Tax Division of the Minnesota Dept, of Revenue sent a copy <br /> of the certification of HACA for 1995. The 1995 HACA for Arden Hills district <br /> will be $100,243. The 1994 certified HACA arrount was $97,544, <br />. 1 <br /> ---- <br />
