Mayor Probst stated that on Monday night, the City Council will, by resolution, decide who will be nominated by the City to be on the committee. Congressman Vento is aware of the interest Arden Hills has in the selection process for the reutilization committee. Mayor Probst stated that the Planning Commission should be active in this process and be prepared to be in a position to direct and guide them. He feels the diagram prepared by Ramsey County is a reasonable starting point for these discussions. Mayor Probst stated the need for active recreation facilities. The City would then want to program those facilities. Mr. Erickson asked where the plan is going from the committee. Is it the hopes that the governing body will adopt the plan? Mayor Probst stated this reutilization committee process was set up to handle base closures. It is to ward off having more than . one plan submitted from each interested group. Mayor Probst asked for the Commission to make a specific recommendation to the Council as to how they would like to proceed. Erickson motioned, seconded by Nelson, to recommend to the City Council a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) be drafted to identify potential consultants to aid in reutilization of the TCAAP property. The motion passed unanimously. (6 -OJ COUNCIL REPORT Mayor Probst welcomed the new members to the Planning Commission. Mayor Probst stated the last Council action taken on any planning cases was from the July Commission meeting in which the Council endorsed all the actions per the Planning Commissions' recommendations.
