As I rrentioned that day, there ll'ay be several other sites that warrant the oonsideration of the City Co\fficil. Obviously, the key to relocating to a new site is whether or not the City is ccmnitting to the site long-term or short-term. I asSUIre that your discussions with the City Council have detailed the rronetary plans and alte=tives for a relocated or new City Hall. These alte=tive ll'ay have included: . 1. Retro fit and expansion of botb buildings on the present site. 2. Building new facilities on other sites 3. Tearing down and building new facilities on present site 4. Leasing or building new on tbe arsenal property. 5. Leasing facilities elsewhere in City. 6. Operate \ffider existing conditions. 1. Gate~v Business District. There are no vacant buildings in this proposed develq:m:nt but the City does = a=eage where a new building oould be constructed. Everest Develq:m:nt has indicated to staff that their firm =uld be interested in a lease/purchase project for a new City Hall. Advantaqe of the Site. A. Minill'al land acquisition costs B. Will assist in tbe future redevelopnent of the area C. May assist in potential land swap with Harstad D. Easy access E. Corrpatible with zoning, adjacent land uses .
