. CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
MEMORANDUM
DATE: September 16,1994
TO: Mayor and City Councilmembers
FROM: Dorothy Person, City Administrator
SUBJECT: Temporary City Facilities Investigation (2-5 years)
As you recall, at the August W orksession, the Council directed staff to put together information
regarding improvements needed and anticipated costs to move Council and staff as a temporary
measure (2-5 years), to the TCAAP Bldgs. 105 and 189~ In the interim, Commander's Rep Mike
Fix advised Arden Hills that he anticipates by the first of the year these buildings to be occupied
by a federal agency with 500 (approx) employees. He added that all federal agencies are being
advised to move off leased land to land that is considered excess federal land, therefore reducing
costs. He indicated that in the interim the City may use the space temporarily and as approved.
but to plan anything more than that time period may be futile.
Following this change, staff continued to investigate alternatives within the City limits. The
attached memo from Brian lists alternatives reviewed and pros and cons.
