I
I
~ 1308 Cannon Avenue
Arden Hills, MN 55112
March 2, 1995

I 6~; ~itXr~~~~illl 'i1,c ." ',\ :-; :C;q~

1450 W_ Highway 96
I Arden Hills, MN 55112 '-.

Ref: PUD for County Road E2 and Old Highway 10.

I Dear Council members: '

I Understanding the property in question is zoned R-1, and that a affirmative five to one
vote was taken by the Planning Commission following a thorough public hearing, I
urge you to approve the PUD request.

I In the case above it is ridiculous to procrastinate. Delays on such an open and shut
case do nothing but cause emotions to cloud issues and create long range ill will. The
I residents "on the hill" do not have any claim on the property below them_

II As a thirty-five year resident of Arden Hills and former planning commission and board
of appeals member I recall well some similar actions_ We didn't like it when people
built homes on "our baseball field" either. But rules were rules and we continue to live
by them_

I While my next point is probably not germane to your action, I would like to point out my
objection to the unethical practice that opponents to this action have taken .- that of
I flooding the Valentine Hills school with leaflets opposing the development. (My
grandchildren came home with three leaflets handed out by other students_) Using
children and the public school for this type of agenda is most inciting and unfair.

I '1 would suggest further that if in fact this land is zoned R-1, a denial of this request
I could result in legal action against the city_ In fact, I would encourage it as otherwise it
would be a mockery of our overall planning and zoning ordinances. This proposal in
itself is obviously the best use of that property_

I Sincerely,

I ~ ~ .
.:Ly"JVt\~~.

"
I Roger D.
