I
I. ~
Minutes
I City of Arden Hills, Minnesota
Worksession
I Public Works Building Lunchroom
Thursday, March 16, 1995, 4:30 PM
I CALL TO ORDERlROLL CALL
I Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Councilmember Paul Malone called to order the
Worksession hearing at 4:30 PM.
I Present: Mayor Dennis Probst; Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Dale Hicks and Paul
Malone.
I Also present were: City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger, City Accountant, Terrance Post, Park
and Recreation Director, Cynthia Walsh and Administrative Assistant, Shirley Evenson.
I ADOPT AGENDA
MOTION: Malone moved and Hicks seconded a motion to adopt the agenda for the March
Ie 16,1995 Work Session hearing as presented. The motion carried unanimously
(4-0).
I MEETING WITH NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVES
Donald E. Erickson, ED. D., of Northwest em College spoke regarding the feasibility of an
additional building on campus. The enrollment is increasing on a regular basis and Dr. Erickson
I indicated that he wished to make the City of Arden Hills aware of the college's future plans.
There was some discussion regarding the parking and security problems that may exist if this
reaches fruition. Councilmember Malone indicated that the existing "special use" permit should
I be reviewed to determine the ability of the college to expand.
DISCUSSION OF ROGER AIKEN DRAINAGE REOUEST
I City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger, indicated that because of the construction of homes, the
drainage in this area is causing flooding and other terrain problems for the resident. Re-grading
I and additional landscaping changes may be in order to prevent further erosion. The
Councilmembers and staff agreed that there should be some final solution to this kind of
problem, due to the fact that it occurs quite frequently.
I Mayor Probst suggested that photos be taken ofthe construction during each project to make sure
they are up to code and that engineering problems are kept at a minimum. City Engineer
I Stonehouse is still considering the options available to the City and will have a full report
available in coming weeks. There will be a continuation of this discussion in April.
i'
I
