ARDlili liU.LS CITY COUNCIL - MAY 30, 1995 <br /> . 3 <br /> I High School to old Highway 10, Mr, Stonehouse presented two plans one with the trail and one <br /> I without the trail. <br /> Mr, Stonehouse noted the design of the reconstruction allows for a trail, whether built now or in the <br /> I future, should the neighborhood change their minds. <br /> Mr. Stonehouse stated bids were received on March 30, 1995 and Midwest Asphalt, Inc. was the <br /> I lowest responsible bidder at $798,808.45, <br /> Councilmember Malone asked if the bid includes replacing the water main, Mr. Stonehouse <br /> I indicated that would be correct, the replacement of the water main would provide for the availability <br /> of Minnesota State Aid fimds. Mr, Stonehouse noted last winter there were several breaks in the line <br /> I and replacement is necessary, <br /> Councilmember Hicks inquired if the bid includes the trail. Mr, Stonehouse indicated that was <br /> I correct. Councilmember Hicks indicated if the trail was not constructed there would be a small <br /> savmgs, <br /> I- Councilmember Hicks inquired if the road was moved to the north, to save trees, Mr, Stonehouse <br /> indicated that was correct. <br /> I Councilmember Hicks asked how the traffic flow will be routed at the high school driveway, <br /> Councilmember Hicks asked if the trail could be added in the future, Mr. Stonehouse indicated that <br /> was correct and there would be minimal damage to trees in the area, <br /> I Councilmember Hicks inquired as to the traffic pattern at the eastern side of the high schooL Mr, <br /> Stonehouse indicated there would be an exit only, out of the driveway and the traffic would turn <br /> I right or east. <br /> I Councilmember Hicks inquired as to how the traffic flow would be routed and if there would be <br /> signage, Mr. Stonehouse indicated there would be stripping and could be additional signage as well. <br /> I Councilmember Aplikowski requested to review the plans, Mr, Stonehouse pointed out the two <br /> plans on the overhead transparencies, <br /> I Councilmember Hicks inquired if the high school's request for moving the trail onto their property <br /> had been accomplished. Mr. Stonehouse indicated this had been done and the school will be <br /> responsible for the maintenance of the traiL <br /> I Councilmember Malone inquired as to the cost of the traiL Mr. Stonehouse indicated approximately <br /> .- $20,000, Councilmember Malone asked for the cost of the trail, should the trail be done in the <br /> future.
