No. 275, 1-2-91) <br />I <br />I 240.31 Supervisory Authority Regarding Discipline and Discharge. <br />I A. Supervisors ~have the authority to impose oral and written reprimands without the <br />I- prior approval of the -Clerk-Administrator. <br />I B. Upon the recommendation of the Clerk-Administrator and with the approval of the City <br />I Council, an employee may be suspended without pay to a maximum of thirty (30) continuous <br /> workdays in any given calendar year. <br />I <br />I C. An employee may be demoted or discharged by the City Council. Employees shall be <br />I notified in writing of suspension without pay, demotion or discharge. Such notice shall <br /> include the cause for such action. <br />I <br />I D. The employee may grieve disciplinary action or discharge in accordance with the <br />. established grievance procedure. Grievances of disciplinary action may be initiated at Step <br />I <br /> 2 - 71 <br />I <br />
