MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE JURISDICTIONS <br /> WHICH CONTRACT WITH RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br /> FOR POLICE SERVICES <br /> JUNE 15, 1995 <br /> . +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ <br /> Brian Fritsinger, Chair, called the meeting order at <br /> to <br /> . 7:40 a.m. The following members were present: <br /> - Dick Dornbusch, Undersheriff / Chief Deputy, Ramsey County <br /> Sheriff's Department <br /> I - Brian Fritsinger, City of Arden Hills <br /> - Dick Lange, City of North Oaks <br /> - John Luey, Undersheriff, Ramsey County Sheriff's Department. <br /> - Jan Reagan, White Bear Township <br /> . - Jerry Urban, City of Vadnais Heights <br /> APPROVAL Ql MINUTES <br /> . The Minutes of May 18, 1995, were approved as submitted. <br /> 1996 BUDGET ESTIMATES <br /> . Dornbusch explained the added proposed budget items as follows: <br /> Officer Survival Course; Crime Prevention & Analysis Position; <br /> . cops Ahead Deputy (hired under grant); additional squad car (Rice <br /> St. Corridor), and the DARE vehicle. He noted that a civilian <br /> person is planned to be hired to fill the new crime prevention <br /> .- position. This person would start January 1st. , however, their <br /> start could be delayed for 3-4 months, to cut costs. The Group <br /> directed Dornbusch to modify the proposed budget by removing the <br /> DARE vehicle. Dornbusch will prepare a revised budget and Luey <br /> will prioritize the bUdget items for review at next month's <br /> . meeting. It was however, the consensus of the Group that <br /> Shoreview pick up all additional budget costs, noting that they <br /> will benefit the most. (Terry, you better not miss any more <br /> . meetings!) <br /> DEFIBRILLATION <br /> . Nothing new to report. Luey is still trying to make contact with <br /> doctors, Health Span and other manufacturers. Hopefully he will <br /> have a report for next month's meeting. Urban suggested <br /> I coordination with the local fire departments. It was noted that <br /> all squads should be equipped with a defibrillator, to avoid <br /> having to switch equipment from one vehicle to another. <br /> Liability issues will also be discussed next month. <br /> I INSURANCE REPORT <br /> . Denise Kapler, Risk Management, explained that we can expect a <br /> 15% increase in the MOdification Factor for Worker's <br /> Compensation, siting frequency of claims as the biggest problem. <br /> I <br /> .e <br /> . <br />
