<br />-------------------- <br /> I <br />, <br />, .- <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - JULY 31. 1995 2 <br />Mr. Stonehouse pointed out that 50% of City funds support overlay projects and 100% of seal coat - <br />projects. I <br />Mr. Stonehouse indicated the unique circumstance involving the Homeowners Association, noting <br />the assessment will be divided by the 68 homes within the Association. The cost per home will be I <br />$227.81. <br />Mr. Gary Getty, 1188 Benton Way, President of the Hunter's Park Homeowner's Association, I <br />thanked staff for meeting with him to explain the project. He referred to a letter sent to the City <br />proposing reducing the assessment from $4 per linear foot to $2 per linear foot. <br />Mr. Getty indicated the Association consists of individual single family homeowners, the units are I <br />not town homes. He pointed out the development is unique to Arden Hills, and he believed the <br />Council should review the way in which it may be assessed. . <br />Mr. Getty suggested a liaison between the Association and the City would be appropriate for <br />communication purposes, he volunteered to be that liaison. I <br />Mr. Getty stated the homeowners are responsible for their own lots and driveways, the homeowners -. <br />then pay the Association for the maintenance of the roadways, plus the cost of snow removal. <br />Mr. Getty indicated the Association is proposing the reduction of the assessment from $4 per linear I <br />foot to $2 per linear foot in those areas not considered common ground. He pointed out areas on <br />comers should be assessed similar to other comer lots in Arden Hills. <br />Mr. Frank Pistotnik, 1163 Benton Way, reiterated each homeowner would need to be I <br />communicated with individually. Mr. Pistotnik questioned if the project is set for this year. Mayor <br />Probst replied yes, the project will be completed this year. - <br />Mr. Pistotnik asked why spot repairs are currently oecurring on Benton Way. Mr. Stonehouse <br />indicated those repairs are part of the project. - <br />Mr. Pistotnik expressed concern regarding the repairs, he did not feel this was a wise use of money, <br />indicating the quality of the repairs. - <br />Mr. Pistotnik encouraged the Council to re-evaluate the fairness of the assessment, he felt the I <br />residents were paying twice. <br />Mr. Bob Porter, 1128 Benton Way, also thanked staff for their cooperation.
