C rban Design RE: Guidelines I Recommendations <br /> Urban Design Enhancement Program <br /> Thresher Square <br /> I 700 Third Street So. <br /> Minneapolis, <br /> MN 55415 <br /> I 612/370-0700 <br /> Fax 612/370-1378 The purpose of this memorandum is to summarize the proposed roadway urban <br /> design treatments and guidelines for the Highway 96 corridor. The overall Urban <br /> I .nvec Design Enhancement Program was outlined in the Memorandum dated August 7, <br /> waukee 1995. This memorandum provides more detailed information regarding specific <br /> Minneapolis improvements as well as guidelines for enhancements which might be <br /> I Orlando implemented by the cities that adjoin the corridor. The improvements discussed <br /> Phoenix include: <br /> Portland <br /> I San Diego . Corridor Enhancements <br /> Seattle . Intersection Treatments <br /> . Special Features <br /> . The memorandum also lists a number of key recommendations regarding the <br /> corridor enhancements. If accepted, these recommendations will serve as the <br /> . framework and provide direction for more detailed design in the next phase of the <br /> project development. <br /> I 1. CORRIDOR ENHANCEMENTS <br /> I This section identifies enhancements which apply to the Highway 96 corridor in <br /> general. The discussion includes items which would be part of the basic roadway <br /> . project, such as general landscaping and the regional trail, as well as items which <br /> would be the responsibility of the cities along the corridor, such as lighting. <br /> .- Specialty items are discussed in the last section, Special Features. <br /> I <br />
