Picnic Areas <br /> , Northern Trails I <br /> ~. The Tony Schmidt Park project was rated the number four project within the Parks and I <br /> Recreation Department. McCarron's Park was selected this year as the Parks number one <br /> prioritY based on a set of Criteria, <br /> The criteria included: ge'ographic/development, socioeconomic, accessibility by bus and I <br /> the overall facltpat McCarron',s was physically in worse shape than Lake Johanna. <br /> Greg explained that they bid their Park & Recreation projects into the County's overall I <br /> request system, Greg also nOted that Lake Johanna is not a regional park and; therefore, <br /> is not eligible for regional park funding, Mark Nolan, Parks Chair of the Ramsey County I <br /> Parks Commission indicated that Lake Johanna is still a very high priority with his <br /> Committee, but hasn't been a high enough priority to be funded. <br /> . I <br /> Members for the Committee askedGreg and Mark what Arden Hills needs to do so to <br /> ensure that Tony Schmidt is a top priority for 1997, Greg Mack suggested that our -I <br /> Committee vvrite a letter to our County Commissioner as well as attend some of the <br /> > < <br /> priority meetings for Ramsey County. <br /> Tami Moberg, a resident of Arden Hills who lives near Lake Johanna, voiced her I <br /> concerns about the safety and general deterioration of the park, She indicated she would <br /> be willing to put together a petition within her neighborhood, if needed. Mark Nolan I <br /> indicated that the public needs to get more involved by promoting positive behavior in <br /> the parks and creating some good publicity. <br /> Dorothy McClung questioned the County about its interest/involvement in TCAAP. She I <br /> feels that the County has not been strong enough in expressing any of their desires for the <br /> TCAiV'site. Mark Nolan indicated he would let his Committee be aware of this, I <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Susan Keirn indicated that the City Council accepted the EA Won the Ogren I <br /> Development and that they felt that an EIS was not necessary. County Road F is I <br /> completed, except for some sodding. Temporary striping has been put in until it can be <br /> striped in the spring. Retainage Fees for County Road F have been requested in lieu of <br /> insurance claims for Valentine Park. I <br /> 2 -I <br /> I <br />
