These <br /> - notices show the estimated property taxes for 1996 and invite <br /> -. property owners to attend public hearings held by the county, <br /> cities, school districts and metropolitan special taxing districts <br /> I to discuss the governmental units' budgets and property tax levies. <br /> Inserts are enclosed that answer commonly asked tax questions, <br /> describe the impact of federal welfare reform and invite county <br /> residents to attend the hearing at the St. Paul Technical College <br /> I on December 12th. <br /> Most areas of the county will have modest increases or decreases <br /> I in taxes as compared to 1995. Hore than 65% of the homes in St. Paul <br /> will have percentage tax increases of 0.8% or less. Due largely <br /> to market value increases, properties in the Summit Avenue and <br /> Irvine Park areas of St. Paul could have percentage tax increases <br /> I from 9% to 12%. <br /> Hany properties in the St. Anthony School District #282 will <br /> I have double digit percentage tax increases on their TNT notices <br /> for 1996 due primarily to an 15% increase in the school district's <br /> net levy.
