This letter reports on our meeting and subsequent ergonomic evaluation of selected workstations within your city hall on December 6, 1995. The body of this report will outline specific recommendations for these selected workstations. I Currently, your workstations consist of old steel military desks. These desks are not adjustable ~ in any way, shape or form. These desks were also not designed to accommodate the current office equipment, i.e. computers. I Because of the equipment necessary to operate efficiently in today's environment, adjustable workstations are essential. I recommend that the city of Arden Hills pursue purchasing equipment to update their current office furniture or purchase new furniture which will meet their I needs and be ergonomically correct. The following is a list of the equipment necessary for selected workstations. I Kevin - I Purchase new adjustable chair. Purchase an adjustable keyboard arm or drawer. I Purchase an adjustable terminal arm and place the keyboard in direct line with terminal so that Kevin is not facing one direction toward the keyboard and turning his neck in an opposite direction to view his terminal screen.
