<br />SURVEY SUMMARY: <br />Bolton & Menk will be at the City Council Work Session to give a presentation to the Council on survey <br />findings. Below is a brief summary: <br /> <br />Arden Oaks Park - <br />The top five improvements requested through the survey were: <br />1. More playground amenities for older children <br />2. Additional shade structures <br />3. More swings <br />4. Gaga ball pit <br />5. Accessible trail from street to the playground <br /> <br />The top five playground amenities requested to be included in enhancement efforts were: <br />1. Ropes/climbing systems <br />2. Swings <br />3. Tower structures <br />4. Challenge/ninja course <br />5. Freestanding balance beam <br /> <br />Freeway Park - <br />The top five improvements requested through the survey were: <br />1. More playground amenities for older children <br />2. Freestanding balance beam <br /> <br />PROJECT FUNDING: <br />Arden Hills has budgeted $460,000 for park improvements at Arden Oaks Park and Freeway Park in the <br />CIP. Bolton & Menk has provided planning level costs associated with each park enhancement. It should <br />be noted that each item has a Design/Engineering/Consulting Fee and Construction Fee, these are used at <br />the planning level phase and would likely change depending on the scope of the project. After reviewing <br />potential park improvement survey responses and costs, the Council should provide direction on what <br />amenities they would like to see moving forward. <br /> <br />NEXT STEPS: <br />• May 28 – Direction from Council on park improvement amenities <br />• June 2024 – Amend PSA for Design and Construction Services <br />• August/September 2024 – PTRC and City Council Involvement and Final Cost Estimates <br />• Fall 2024 – Purchasing of Playground Equipment <br />• February/March 2024 – Bid project <br />• April 2025 – Award Construction Contract <br />• Summer/Fall 2025 - Construction
