CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> • MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: May 9, 1995 <br /> TO: Economic Development Committee <br /> FROM: Brian Fritsinger, CityAdministrator <br /> g <br /> SUBJECT: Monthly Report <br /> • <br /> Here is a brief listing of several staff contacts over the past several weeks. <br /> 1. Arbys\Sbarro - A plan including a 4400 Sq. Ft. Arbys and 7500 Sq. Ft. automotive retail <br /> center has been presented in concept to City staff. This proposal would be located to the <br /> north of Shannon Square. No formal application has been received. <br /> 2. Grocery Store - Staff has also been in contact with a grocery chain interested in the <br /> property identified above. Staff has attempted to facilitate discussions between the two <br /> interested parties to consider a larger redevelopment project. <br /> • 3. Everest - The Council has come to preliminary terms with Everest in regards to the <br /> financial assistance to be provided for this development. Staff will be working with <br /> Everest on the preparation of a full development agreement as soon as time permits. <br /> 4. Horn Oak and Leather - This company met with the City Council and made a <br /> presentation on a proposed project in the GBD. The company needs 12 acres now with a <br /> total of 20 desired for long term growth. <br /> 5. Dvnamark- The City approved a site plan for a new 32,000 Sq. Ft. building. The <br /> ground breaking was held two weeks ago. <br /> 6. Amoco - The Planning Commission approved the amended SUP's for the construction of <br /> the Certicare Center. The Council will review this request on May 30. <br /> 7. CSM Corp. - I expect CSM to approach the City with plans to construct an additional <br /> 32,000 Sq. Ft. building. CSM is developing the Dynamark facility and has plans to build a <br /> second building adjacent to the facility now under construction. <br /> 8. TCAAP - A number of activities are occurring with this planning process. One activity <br /> includes the preparation of a Federal EDA Grant for implementation funds and another <br /> includes studying the formation of a local EDA or Port Authority. <br /> • BF\jt <br />
