Sign districts could be combined to be <br />simpler. <br />Wall Signage <br />- Recommendations <br />o Base the maximum permitted wall sign copy area on a percentage of the proposed <br />building elevation. <br />o If percentage of the proposed building elevation is used to calculate signage, set a <br />minimum permitted sign copy area to ensure smaller buildings are still permitted <br />sufficient sign copy area. <br />o Base the maximum permitted wall sign copy area on building footprint square <br />footage. <br />Freestanding Signage <br />- Recommendations <br />o Base the maximum permitted sign copy area and sign area on building square <br />footage. <br />o For a property with two street frontages, permit two monument signs with the <br />same or a similar square footage. <br />o Review permitted sign lighting by sign district. <br />Dynamic Display Signs <br />- Recommendations <br />o Permit dynamic display signage for other uses in addition to drive thru, restaurant. <br />o Regulate dynamic display sign brightness with the intent to minimize impact to <br />residential uses. <br />Colored lighting <br />- Recommendations <br />o Incorporate colored lighting into the sign code. <br />
