Public Safety: ~e Clerk read letter dated October 21tth from the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Depar1ment declining the fire pr otection contract as pr 0- posed in Resolution of October l,5th. Chairman Mack reported that he has ar- ranged for the counci 1 to meet wi th them on November 6th, at 8 P.M., at the fire department. He will arrange a separate pre'Vious meetiIlg with the SpJ!'ing Lab Park Fire Depariment. ~e meetings are far the purpose of composing differences between the council's resolution of October 15th and the departments' proposals of October 10th and 12th. ~a clerk 'll&S directed to write Mr. Freitag of the Fire Underwriters Inspection Bu.reau that it is expected to concJnde the contracts in about a week: or ten days. and that we are being furnished fire protection in the meantime. Village Attorney Mack: reported on an ordinance governing basenent homes and was directed to prepare one prohibiting then entirely. Public Works: Chairnan, Delange reported tlvl.t he has issued Road Work Orders dated October lith am October 23rd. He al so read letter OctOber 23rd trom the Cauni;y Survo;yor quoting about $l;l:l.OO to install culvert at the NW corner of Arden Place and Ridgewood Road to relieve drainage problem; by motion of DeLange seconded by McClung the chairman 'lias ordered to have the c:u.lvert installed now rather than next spring. :By mot ion of DeLange sec onded by Doepner the council approved changing the name of "Lakaview Avenue" 'lIest of Lexington Avenue, to "County Road 'D'" in accordance with recommemat1on of the County Surveyor's offics sOIlEt1me ago. Public Wel fare: Chairman McClung reported that he has investigated the cesspool complaint at the Lakeview Terrace properi;y on Lake Johanna :Blvd. and . found no basis "therefor to exist. (At this point 'l'rustee McClung was excused to leave the meeting.) ~e complaint of rubbish on a Richardson pr'operi;y east of Lake Josephine 'lias referred to the Bu.ilding Inspeetor who will write Mr. Richardson to eliminate it becaus e it is a menace to health. ~e CUelit is to publish e. financial statement of the village, for the periOd ending October 31, 1951, in the official newspaper, the las1; week in November.
