Phiffer, Norman <br />Richardson, John Brigltede, and W~J1lI F. Sievers, all of Edge_ter Avenue, <br />east of Lake Josephine, appeared and spOke abOl1t work needed on that street. <br />Smi th said that last spring the neighbors got together and hauled some <br />cinders on the street thich made it passable. They were told that the street <br />will be bladed and given a dnst coat. <br /> <br />!l!1ey also mentioned that "Edgewater Aveme" is also referred to as <br />"street" and "road" but were told that "avenue" is correct. The offidal map <br />lists it as ":road" and a resolution may have to be adopted and published to <br />estab lish the name as "Edge_ter Avenue" to agree with the name of the portion <br />Of that street in Arden Hills No. 3 Addi tion. <br /> <br />STANDING COlllMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Publio Safe1;y: Ch. Mack reported that his colllllli ttee has decided to recom- <br />mend Mr. Jerome T. Wasielewsld, 1605 Lake Johamla BOI1levard, PRior 1586, for <br />a,ppointment as constable to serve the unexpired term of Te1'ne K. Phiff'er, re- <br />Signed, l.e. to Jan. 2. 1~53. !l!1ereupon by motion of Mack seoonded by lKcCl:ung <br />he was appointed constable for said term, and sworn in immediate~ly by the clerk. <br />'!he oouncil also approved the usual constable's $500.00 bond fo h1m~ by motion <br />of Jl&ck leconded by lloepner. . <br /> <br />"ok: also reported that the sheriff's office preferred a different color <br />for our constables' uniforms, and therefore the Public Safety Committee decided <br />upon gr8J shirts with blue trousers. <br /> <br />"ck reported that ez-Constable Winkel's siren was smashed accidentally <br />and is a total loss. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Otto C. Graffunder was designated to obtain data on new unde1l-the..hood <br />sirens, type, co st. and credi t for ez-ConstableJtl1ffer's to be retlU'ned, and <br />to report at the June 30th COUIlCil meeting. <br /> <br />Jfack also reported that the Public Safety Committee would have no objection <br />to the oonstables carrying their own firearms. <br />
