Zoning Code Text Amendments <br />• Applicant proposing text amendments that would define an Event Center and <br />designate this type of land use as a conditional use in the B-2 General Business <br />District. <br />• According to the Applicant, the proposed ordinance amendment: <br />• will support the growth and diversification of the local economy while meeting the <br />evolving needs of the community <br />• event centers have become increasingly popular as venues for various social and <br />corporate events <br />• by allowing for these dedicated facilities would enhance the city's attractiveness as a <br />destination for such gatherings <br />• Applicant proposed Off Street Parking Spaces Required for an Event Center use, <br />specifying 1 space for every 3 seats as the required number of spaces. <br />• At July 10, 2024 meeting, Planning Commission recommended an amendment to the <br />requirement, specifying 1 space for every 4 seats. <br />
