<br />125 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEE'rING <br />COUNCIL OF Trill VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />Monday, July 27, 1953 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Mayor Cummings. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Cmmnings, De Lange, Mc Clung, Ludlow present; Mack <br />absent. There being a quoru~ present, the Council proceeded <br />with transactions of business as follows: <br /> <br />The minutes of the meetinG of June 29, 1953 were read by the <br />clerk. De Lange moved and McClung seconded a motion the minutes <br />be approved as read - carried. <br /> <br />The minutes of the special meeting of July 13, 1953 were read by <br />the clerk. De Lange moved and Mc Clung seconded a motion the <br />minutes be approved as read.*-carried. - <br /> <br />The Justice of the Peace submitted his report. <br /> <br />Reports of Standing Connnittees: <br /> <br />Finance - no report. <br /> <br />Public Safety - no report. <br /> <br />Public Works - Ch. De Lange reported tfiat blading and oiling of <br />roads within the village had commenced. <br /> <br />Public Welfare - Ch. Mack absent. <br /> <br />The Village Attorney gave his opinion on several matters as follows: <br /> <br />1) In regard to the recent opinion handed dovm by the Attorney <br />General on the use of privately ovmed automobiles for <br />police work, the Village Attorney suggested that they <br />might be leased by the Village for the time spent in <br />Village policing. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2~ That the Township of Moundsview was within its legal rights <br />in proposing to build, a new to\'m hall on the present site <br />within the limits of the Village of Arden Hills. l@tters <br />pertaining to use and possible rental were discussed by <br />the Council. <br /> <br />3) Suggested that the Village should have its ovm zoning map. <br />After, discussion De Lange moved and Ludlow seconded a mo- <br />tion that buileJ.inf, inspector, Melvin Hurlbert, be impower- <br />ed to take care of the printing of ten such maps - carried. <br />
