Table <br />Chair Weber opened the floor to Commissioner comments. <br />Commissioner Bjorklund asked if the property would be going from 984 caliper inches of trees <br />on the property to 48 caliper inches. <br />Community Development Director Jagoe reported this was the case. <br />Commissioner Bjorklund questioned if the City had a stormwater maintenance plan for this <br />project. <br />Community Development Director Jagoe stated the City Engineer has not received a plan to <br />date. She explained this plan would be filed and reviewed with the City Engineer. <br />Commissioner Erler asked why the building was placed 90 feet back instead of 50 feet. <br />Fire Chief Tim Boehlke explained the reason for the larger setback was to allow for the trucks to <br />be utilized for training purposes outside the front of the building. <br />Commissioner Erler reported residents of the adjacent senior living community requested that <br />the mature trees on the property be retained. He requested the Fire Chief speak to the proposed <br />tree loss. <br />Fire Chief Boehlke reported he has spoken to the residents on the adjacent property. He explained <br />the trees that were being taken down had to be removed to accommodate the proposed building <br />and paved area. <br />Commissioner Erler questioned if trees would be planted somewhere else or was this not being <br />considered by the City. <br />Community Development Director Jagoe stated the Ordinance would require the applicant to <br />replace trees onsite, find a suitable location offsite, or make a payment in lieu of tree plantings. <br />She explained in this case the Fire Department does not have an offsite location identified, but the <br />payment in lieu of fee was a landscaping fee that would be used by the City for maintenance and/or <br />plantings. She indicated the Fire Department was asking that the payment in lieu of fee be waived <br />as part of the PUD review. <br />
