<br />RJ!XroLAR MEETING <br /> <br />COUNCIL FO!l THE VILLAGE OF .ARIlEN HILLS <br />Monday March 28, 1955 <br /> <br />183 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:05 by Mayor Ashbach. <br /> <br />Roll Call: All members present. <br />Mr. Ralph Hunt, Civil Defense Director, explained a drive sponsored by the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Pet Milk Company for supp:qing citizens with Identification tags. <br /> <br />When <br /> <br />worn, in case of an air raid, the tags would be an aid in identification. <br /> <br />~lr. Hunt was given Oouncil approval for the program, and requested by the <br /> <br />Council to give it publicity thru the schools and the Rose Tribune. <br /> <br />The Air Raid Alarm System was discussed and the Council decided to take <br /> <br />action at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Finance Committee: Mrs. Stromquist reported tl1at tne March balance from <br /> <br />the clerk records was $11,932.97. <br /> <br />The possibility of setting up an inventory of village propert;r and <br /> <br />equipment is being considered. <br /> <br />Public Safety Conunittee: Mr. McClung reported that a cOIIIIIIUtee meeting <br /> <br />was held March 26 with all members present, for the purpose of drawing up a <br /> <br />dog ordinance. Ordinances from surrounding communities and territories were <br /> <br />studied and another meeting is scheduled for the following Saturday. <br />A letter from the Village Attorney was written Mr. l~r, requesting he <br /> <br />correct the dog situation at his residence. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Mahr, 4372 Hemline Ave. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />came forward to discuBB his dog problem with the Oouncil. Mr. Mahr stated <br /> <br />he has 16 dogs, 8 of which are trained hunting dogs which he rents during <br /> <br />the hunting season. Ml%r Ashbach advised Mr. V.ahr to keep his dogs under <br /> <br />control. Mr. McOlung stated the new dog ordinance will be drmm up a.s <br /> <br />soon as possible. <br /> <br />l;fr. Weber explained the Police Dept. radio hook-up system now in operation <br />
