June 27. 1955 <br />The meeting was called to order at 3:05 P.M. by Mayor AshbBch. <br />Roll Call: All members present,': <br />The minutes of the May :31 meeting Were read by the Clerk and approved by <br />the Council. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~~. Ralph Hunt, Civil Defense Director. requested approval for installation of <br /> <br /> <br />the air raid alarm siren at the NE corner of Ingerson Road and Dunlap, llJld at <br /> <br /> <br />the NE intersection of Snelling and Arden Place. Dr. Hoyt moved and ~lr. <br /> <br /> <br />l~cClung seconded the motion that Council approve the installation of the t\<o <br /> <br /> <br />sirens recommended by ~lr. Hunt, using 50 ft. poles. Motion passed. <br /> <br /> <br />"~. Hunt was given authority to choose workers to aid in the Civil Defense <br /> <br />Program. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Fli;)lJCE COi-lHlTTEE: 110 report. <br /> <br /> <br />!'UBLIC SAFETY CmrlITTEE: Er. S['11 tros has traded in his Ford on a new :Buick and <br /> <br /> <br />now needs police equipment on the new cex. I~. McClung moved that the Police <br /> <br /> <br />Dept. be authorized to have the radio changed to. 12 Volt system, and further <br /> <br /> <br />that they t~~e steps to find the price of a 12 Volt siren, and the allowance <br /> <br /> <br />to be made on present 6 Volt siren, and also obtain bids for sale on alternator <br /> <br /> <br />which is now surplus equipment, and further that the Public Safety Committee is <br /> <br /> <br />authorized to make the purchase of a new 12 Volt siren at a co st not to exceed <br /> <br /> <br />$150.00. Hr. DeLange seconded and the motion was passed. <br />PUBLIC rlORKS COf.!'lITI'EE: Ilr. DeLange ,stated th"t all streets are oiled except the <br />service road at By. 10 and By~ 96, and part of the Ingerson Addit~on. The <br />ste.mdard signs are up, but other signs have not been completed yet. About 80;6 <br />of the weeds are cut, but there are still trees end bushes to be trim~ed. The <br /> <br /> <br />turn-around on Ridgewood was discussed by the Council. The part of it on vills€e <br /> <br /> <br />property is to be oiled, and consideration given to completing the construction <br /> <br /> <br />of the turn-arolmd in the future. <br />
