ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—JULY 22, 2024 20 <br /> Johanna Fire Department. She explained the fire department would be in attendance at the Slice of <br /> Shoreview celebration. <br /> Councilmember Monson indicated she attended the City sponsored picnic for the Commission <br /> members and stated this was a great event. She thanked all of the Commission members who <br /> volunteer their time to serve the community. <br /> Mayor Grant stated ADU's were an accessory dwelling unit. He stated ADU's were currently <br /> not allowed in Arden Hills. <br /> Mayor Grant explained he listened to the Planning Commission meeting as well and he heard a <br /> Commissioner state the City was letting trees die. He explained Public Works Director <br /> Swearingen was very clear in stating the City was watering trees and was not letting them die. He <br /> indicated this was an egregious comment that he would hope would be addressed. He stated if the <br /> Council liaison was not going to address these comments, he hoped staff could provide clarity at <br /> the Planning Commission meetings. He reported there were trees that have died of Emerald Ash <br /> Borer in the community and there was not much the City could do about this. <br /> Mayor Grant reported this would be City Administrator Perrault's last official meeting with the <br /> City. He stated it has been a pleasure working with City Administrator Perrault and he wished <br /> him well. <br /> ADJOURN <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Mayor Grant seconded a motion to <br /> adiourn.
