<br />1 <br /> <br />2024 Parks Maintenance Plan <br /> <br />Maintaining the City Parks and city owned property is outlined in the Parks Maintenance Policy (Parks <br />MP, last revised 2010) and outlines four levels of service. Some of the maintenance and techniques have <br />deviated since the last revision to this policy, to create a more efficient work flow, utilization of current <br />PW equipment, staffing, and products on the market. <br />Public Works utilizes four types of labor resources that will be referenced in the 2024 Plan. See below, <br />the types and abbreviations used in the plan. <br />• Full Time Public Works Staff (FTE) <br />• Seasonal part time Staff (SPT) <br />• MN Corrections Work Crew (ICWC) <br />• Volunteer Organizations/Groups/Individuals (VOL) <br />Routine park maintenance based on the level of service each park is assigned in the Parks MP, will <br />receive routine mowing, trimming, trash pickup, and snow plowing paved trails, (excluding minimum <br />maintenance trails) and misc. maintenance. Road side sidewalks plowing is completed in conjunction <br />with street plowing, see snow plow policy for details. <br />Cummings trail maintenance (map below) will include paving the red highlighted trail. This section of <br />trail has been identified to pave over the existing trail or reclaim and pave in some areas. Removal of <br />dead/ diseased trees and trees that either need to be trimmed or removed as preventative maintenance <br />will be completed prior to the trail project. Restoration of green space disturbed by the project will take <br />place after the paving is complete. Park benches within the work area will be assessed for repair or <br />replacement needs as part of this project. <br /> <br />
