<br />17 <br /> <br />2024 Water Distribution Maintenance Plan <br /> <br />Hydrant Servicing Area, Servicing hydrants includes- oiling the top operating nut, nozzle section (where <br />applicable), and nozzle threads/ caps. Checking for proper hydrant operation, flushing the hydrant, <br />inspecting the hydrant flag, and exercising the isolation gate valve. <br />Note: Approximately 20% of the hydrants from the 2023 service area were not serviced. These hydrants <br />are north of 694 and east of State Highway 10. These hydrants will be added to the 2024 servicing area. <br /> <br />Dead End Hydrant Flushing is complete citywide in conjunction with the hydrant servicing each year. <br />This flushing is necessary to remove stagnant water from the watermain system. The stagnant water <br />can give off an odor and have a discoloration if not flushed annually. <br />Gate Valve/ Curb Stop repairs needed are outlined below- <br />• 4353 Arden View Ct, curb box top damage and A-1 casting replacement in the private driveway. <br />• 4343 Arden View Ct, curb box top damage and A-1 casting replacement in the private driveway. <br />• 1201 Cummings Park Dr, gate valve top section replacement in the roadway. <br />• 4100 Hamline Ave (Boston Scientific) service gate valve replacement due to valve not holding <br />when in the off position. PW is recommending relocating the gate valve within the boulevard/ <br />out of the roadway, and abandon the current service valve until removal can be added to a <br />future road project.
