<br /> 30,/ <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> CIDUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> Monday, November 25, 1957 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.H. by Hayor Ashbach. <br /> ROLL CALL: Present; Ashbach, Hoyt, Winfrey, Stromquist <br /> Absent; DeLange <br /> . Minutes of the October 11, 1957 meeting were read and approved. <br /> Mr. Les Larson inquired into Zoning 2nd side yard requirements for corner <br /> lots~ Mr. Larson was not requesting any exception to our Zoning Ordinance, <br /> so no action was taken. <br /> Mr. Don Stecker inquired about the liquor question. Mayor Ashb::cch stated <br /> that Mr. Readt Liquor Committee Chairman, was to give a report but was <br /> not present a the meeting. <br /> Mr. Fred Coates inquired about statu~ of the unfinished house on Tiller <br /> Lane. Council requested Attorney to write to owner informing him that <br /> unless action is taken, with definite proof of progress on improvement <br /> of the property by December 30, 1957, condemnation procedings will be <br /> started by the Council. <br /> MAYORS REPORT: Ma,yor Ashbach read a letter from Bannister Engineering <br /> Company in regard to sewer survey costs for Arden HEls #3 and the newly <br /> annexed L2,ke J olumna ,'.rea. No action was taken. <br /> Upon motion by Hoyt, seconded by Winfrey, approval was given N.W. Bell <br /> Telephone Company to bury a cable at Glenview Avenue and Dellwood Avenue. <br /> Motion passed. Clerk to check with Attorney to see if we should have an <br /> easment or ordinance covering all public utilities so that village would <br /> not have the cost of digging around these cables etc. in case of future <br /> sewer instillations. <br /> Mr. Courtney, Attorney, was r,?quested to check into cost for deed to the <br /> public easement to Lake Johanna nm.r mmed by Hounds View. Mr. Vern <br /> Lundgren appeared ~FirFe8 representing Village engineer Don Carley. <br /> Bob !,shb~ch re))orted that m,'ny of the resj,dents on Grant Road are in favor <br /> of the Council hoJlding a public hearing in regard to improvements of <br /> Grant Road. Upon motiOn by Hoyt, seconded by Winfrey, Council will <br /> advertise for bids for the improvei:ent of Grant Road, bids to be opened <br /> December 9, 1957 with a public hearing on the matter to be held on the <br /> . sa'l1e date. Hotion passvd. Engineer wi:: 1 put notice in Rose Tribune for <br /> hearing and advertisement for bids. <br /> A letter to the CounciJ in regard to a drainage problem in Arden Hills 2 <br /> will be checked into by Hayor Ashbach. <br /> Upon motion by StromqUist, seconded by Winfrey, An OrdinQnce Licensing <br /> and Regulating Hechanical Musical DeviceR and providi~ a ~~n~l~~ ;~f <br /> the Violation Therefore, and alRO fm Ordincmce Licensjn~ and R~rulAtinli <br /> the Sales and Consumption of Non-Intoxicating Halt Liquors 2nd Providing <br /> a Penalty for the Violation Thereof were introduced by title, both as <br /> ammended by the ~OunCl~.
