<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />Thursday, January 2, 1958 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney administered the oath of office. 'The following <br />Village Officers were sworn into office, Robert O. Ashbach, Mayor; <br />Carl V. Langer. Trustee; Douglas M. Barthany, Justice of the Peace; <br />Arthur StGermain, Constable; and Worth G. Read, Treasurer. ' <br /> <br />r' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Winfrey. seconded by Stromquist the amount of $800.00 <br />was authorized as payment to the Lake Johanna Voluntee Fire Department <br />for payment for fire protection to the newly annexed area to .the Village <br />for the period of May thru December, 1957. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Ashbach, seconded by Stromquist, Jerome Wasi11ewski and <br />Jack Wolf were appointed temporarily as Police Officefls until the January <br />13 meeting of the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Ashbach and the Council attended a meeting with officials of the Twin <br />Cities Arsenal. The 24" sewer main belonging to the ARsenal may be made <br />a vailable to the Village in the future. <br /> <br />Mr. Read, Liquor Committee Chairman, reported briefly on the status of <br />the liquor question. He stated the Committee favors anotl:1--'~j"1~,~et,.1"lJ... <br />clause. A more complete report is to be given by Mr. Read on or before <br />the regular January 27 meeting of the Council. <br /> <br />Claim #1260 and 1261 to the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department were <br />approved by the Council. <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M. <br /> <br />~.
