<br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of Council of Arden Hills, July 28, 1958 <br />page 2 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In accordance with Condemnation Proceedings against the unfinished house <br />on Tiller Lane belonging to Joseph Surena, Building Inspector Kelley was <br />instructed to enclose the openings to the house as it creates a hazard <br />to the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Stromquist presented proposed forms prepared by the Finance Committee <br />for liquor license application which, upon motion by Crepeau, seconded <br />by Winfrey, were approved by the Council subject to a check by the <br />attorney. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Village Health Officer Dr. Sekhon reported that some motor boats have <br />become a serious problem on L8~e Johanna when the boats drive too close <br />to swimmers on the beaches, and also racing of boats becomes dangerous <br />for others on the lake. . <br /> <br />Mr. Carley reported that in regard to the request from the Oddfellows <br />Lodge, he could find no record in the County Auditor's office of any <br />easement for access to Lake Josephine from Edgewater Avenue, but that <br />there might be a private easement not dedicated to the public which <br />would appear on abstract of title to the parcels of land. Clerk to inform <br />Oddfellows Lodge of the information. <br /> <br />A petition in regard to Ridgewood Court is to be answered by Mayor Ash- <br />bach. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE: Crepeau reported his committee is studying <br />the speed problem on Hamline Avenue. Crepeau reported that about 125 <br />motor boat licenses have been sold since passage of the ordinance re- <br />~ licenses. <br /> <br />PUBLIC \'/ORKS COMMITTEE: DeLange reported that Grant Road is to be re- <br />worked, that he and the committee have been checking on Village streets <br />and several holes in roads have been filled, culverts cleaned, etc. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WELFARE COWfiTTEE: Winfrey reported that due to some objection <br />by nearby residents to a proposed trap shooting rahge on the southeast <br />corner of the Grudnoske farm, that the committee recommended that the <br />request by the Sportsmen's Club for the shooting range be denied. Mayor <br />Asfiach stated that the Club might be able to obtain permission to have <br />the range within the Twin Cities Arsenal. <br /> <br />Mr. Winfrey stated that the Arsenal Gravel Company's request for in- <br />dustrial use of land off Lexington be granted as the land is industrially <br />zoned. Mayor Ashbach to inform Shoreview officials as the land borders <br />their village. <br /> <br />Winfrey reported that beer barrels are still parked around a make-shift <br />cooler belonging to Dick Schreyer. Winfrey requested attorney to write <br />to Mr. Schreyer in regard to the matter. <br /> <br />A first reading was given to an amendment to the Arden Hills Zoning <br />Ordinance which will allow duplexes in all R-2 residential zones. Clerk <br />was requested to put a notice in paper calling a public hearing on the <br />matter at our next regular Council meeting. <br />
