The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. b;r Nayor Ashbach. <br /> Roll Call: Present; Ashbach, DeLange, Winfrey, Crepeau, Stromquist <br /> Absent; None <br /> The Council met to canvas the votes of the December 2, 1958 annual Village election. <br /> }~yor Ashbach explained tleat a tie vote rilld occurred for the position of trustee,with <br /> both B. J. DeLange and Dougald Kennedy receiving 128 votes. Mrs. Stromquist, Clerk, <br /> reported that Attorney Courtney lead checked into procedure in case of a 1;1e vote, and <br /> the law required the Council to act as canvassing board and to determine the winning <br /> candidate by lot, and that }Jr. Courtney recommended putting tIle names of the two candi- <br /> dates in a hat, and that a coin be flipped to see which candidate should draw from the <br /> hat. Hr. Kennedy won ~e coin toss so drew the name from tile hat of Dougald Kennedy. <br /> Mr. Kennedy was declared by Council to be the winning candidate for trustee. <br /> l'u-s. Stromquist read the minutes of tile Village election held December 2, 1958 as <br /> attached, upon motion qy Winfrey, seconded by Crepeau the minutes were approved as <br /> read.
