<br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Kennedy stated that his committee felt the present budget will not <br />allow for a full time employee in charge of roads but will study matter <br />further to see if some type of part time help can be obtained to work <br />with road commissioner Kennedy. <br /> <br />A list of ten streets not on official village list was referred to Engin- <br />eer Carley. <br /> <br />Finance Committee: Stromquist announced that a finance committee meeting <br />was held Feb. 18. The following recommendations were made to Council: <br />The Finance Committee recommedned that no village action be taken in <br />regard to letter of Nov., 1958 from Public Employees Study Assoc, that <br />investigation of mishandling of funds by PEiA was a matter for State <br />Public Examiner. Council accepted committee recommendation and letter <br />from P.E.S.A. was filed with Clerk. <br /> <br />Liquor forms on quarlerly reports for on sale liquor licenses were <br />submitted for council approval. Action to be taken at next meeting. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee favored taking an unofficial village census to <br />see how close we are to 5,000 population, and to see if possible <br />stRaightening of our eastern boundry line would aid us in reaching <br />5,000 residents by the 1960 &ensus. A population of 5,000 would gain <br />for village advantages in liquor laws and we could also collect revenue <br />for xtreet maintenance of $5.00 per resident from Ramsey Councty. <br /> <br />Clerk's RepD~t:Upon motion by Winfrey, seconded by StromqUist a permit to <br />Verne G. Chindlund to move a building form Silver Lake Road to 1929 <br />Jerrold Avanue was approved by Council, subject to condition that.. <br />building inspector.. must approve it or Mr. Chindlund is to immed- <br />iately move same building offl the location at 1929 Herrold Avenue. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />A letter of Feb. 14, 1959 to the P.E.R.A. from Attormey Courtney was read <br />to Council. Letter filed with Clerk. <br /> <br />Clerk announc~ that letters from the Public Safety Committee to OWners <br />of all fishhouses on Lake Johanna had been mailed out. <br /> <br />A letter of February 10, 1959 from the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners <br />reI the consession stand at Lake Johanna was read. Letter filed with <br />Clerk. <br /> <br />Engineer Carley presented Council with map showing a pro~sed plat of <br />Shorewview Village, at East side of Lexington 4venue and County Road E. <br />Carley stated that drainage to plat will drain. to our village. Council <br />to work with Shoreview Village on the matter. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Strom~ist, secondea by Winfrey, an <br />second Monday night of each month a regular council <br />by title.
