<br />Ashbach informed council that arsenal officials approved the highway <br />layout of SP6 284, TH 35W from Arms Plant to Jet. 35E. Upon motion <br />by Crepeau, seconded by Stromquist, preliminary approval was given the <br />attached resolution. Motion passed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Public Welfare Committee; Kennedy reported that he must obtain a more <br />accurate legal description of lot needed for turn around at Lake Lane <br />before deciding worth of the land for easement purposea. <br /> <br />Kennedy reported on variou8 matters that the committee and Attorney are <br />still working on. <br /> <br />Public Safety Committee: Motion by Crepeau, seconded by Stromquist that <br />Lake Joh. Improve. Assoc be authorized to display fireworks July 4, 1959 <br />at Lake Johanna. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Crepeau reported that teen age dances at Grott. Club have been1~contin- <br />ued until fall at request of Public Safety Dept. <br />Attorney's Report: <br />A memo on the Kleidon dourt oase was filed with Clerk. <br />Courtney reported'that bonds are not yet in for the Schreyer liquor <br />applioation. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Stromquist, seconded by Kennedy, Counoil approved the <br />issuance of a $5,000.00 check to Village Attorney to be held as payment <br />for village hall when Mounds View Village furnishes Arden Hills with <br />all proper legal documents required. <br /> <br />Courtney reported on some details yet to be worked out on turn around at <br />~den Hills plat. <br /> <br />A bill of legal fees for first six months of 1959 was submitted to <br />Counoil by Attorney. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The proposed road improvement from Hamline Avenue to proposed Husby'S <br />Crestview plat was referred to Publio ilorks Committee to check into <br />advisability of oondemnation of property by village for road improvement. <br /> <br />Two sewer petitions were referred to Attorney Courtney. <br /> <br />Att08ney Courtney read a letter addressed to Clerk in regard to bond <br />requirements for various contractors in village under our present build- <br />ing code. Upon motion by stromquist, seoonded by Kennedy, an ordinanoe <br />was introduced by title to amend Ord. #16 by striking out bonding <br />requirements in sections 8, 9, and 10 and substituting insurance <br />provisions similiar to those required in seotion 8, paragraph 3, and to <br />eonsdier this preliminary reading. MotipD passed. Courtney to <br />oheck with League of Minn. Munio. on the matter. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee: Delange reported on various road repairs and <br />road problems in village. <br /> <br />Clerk's Report: Stromquist reported that the Finanoe Committee <br />the application of Sohreyer, Inc. for liquor lioenses subjeot <br />of application by Police Dept. and Village Attorney. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee recommended dropping bond requirements of buiding <br />code for contractors and substituting insurance provisions. <br />Motion by Crepeau, seconded by Stromquist that Portion Layout #5 Vicinity <br />Arden Hills from Arms Plant to Jet 35E S.P. 6284 (T.H.35W) be given <br />preliminary approval.
