<br />" <br /> <br />MINU'rES OF'-REGUIAR'MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />Monday, July 13, 1959 <br /> <br />j~ meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Mayor Ashbaeh. <br />'1Pl>11 Call: Present; Ashballllh, Crepeau, Kennedy, DeIe.nge, Stromquist. <br />A.bsent; None. <br />The Minutes of the June 29, 1959 meeting were read and approved as ,amended. <br /> <br />Mr. Jack Grudnoske requested rezoning from Residential to Commeroial 80m; <br />.aProperty owned by him at Highway 96 snf Hamline Avenue. Counoil requested <br />~hat he submit a legal desoription of the land to Clerk. <br /> <br />Mr. Harry Adams, representing the Walter Butler Co. requested oonsideration <br />as engineering oompany for designing proposed sewer s~stem when it is to be <br />put in. Counoil informed Mr. Adams that to date the Bannister Engineering <br />Uompany has been working on sewer plans for the SE portion of village, bu~ <br />oonsideration will be given if a sewer engineer is needed for other areas of <br />village at a later date. <br /> <br />Counoil received a request from Mrs. Ritter to zone Shorewood Hills for sub- <br />sjandard speed beoause of narrow roads, blind oorners, hills etc. Motion <br />made by Delange, seconded by Crepeau that Clerk write to Counay Board to <br />request a 20 mile per hour speed limit in Shorewood Hills. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Mr. J.D. Timm, 1400 Cummings Lane requested an arc light at Snelling Avenue <br />and Cummings Lane and a reduction of speed limit on Snelling Avenue, if <br />possible. Matter referred to De~~ge. <br />~il Philsteoker also oomplained-of speed limit on Snelling Ave. Matter <br />~ferred to Delange. <br /> <br />-, <br />~. ,~ <br />';" <br />, ;, <br /> <br />Mr. Don Gode submitted to Coune:;l,l.petitions both for and against sanitary <br />sewer improvements now under proposal for the Southeastern portion of Arden <br />Hills. Counoil to give matter fUat,.AArliltudy. <br /> <br />Public Weljfare Committee: Upon motion by Kennedy, seconded by StromqUist <br />Ordinance 40 to Amend t~e Zoning Ordinance to list the permitted uses in <br />Area R-2 was given a final reading and admption. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Kennedy, seconded by Stromquist an. Ordinance regulating <br />garbage and rubbish was introduced by title. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee: Mr. Timm requested a dead end sign at Cummings Lane. <br />Matter referred to Delange. <br /> <br />~. Vogel reported that water oollects after heavy rains in froat <br />..,iveway at Fairview and Gramsie. Referred to DeIe.nge. <br /> <br />Motion made by Delange, seoonded by Crepeau that Village Attorney be author- <br />ized to begin oondemnation proceedings to acquire a 60 foot right of way <br />with at least 30 feet on either side of the quarter section line along the <br />so-called Tschida property leading to the ~roposed plat of Husby'S Crestview <br />and West past proposed plat of Husby's Crestview over the Oswald Tsohida <br />property.
