OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1959 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8:10 p.m. by Mayor Ashbach. <br /> Roll call: Present; Ashbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, Delange, Stromquist <br /> - Absent; none <br /> The minutes of the September 28, 1959 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> A request of Mr. Donald Roberts to put a cabinet ahop on the commercial <br /> property at County Road E between Hamline and Lexington Avenue was re- <br /> ferred to Public Welfare Committee. <br /> A public hearing WaS held on Highway Layout and Profile 21, Vicinity of <br /> Arden Hills from Snelling Avenue to Jet. FAI 694, S.P. 6216-30 (T.H.5l.125) <br /> Mr. McCubrey explained layout and answered questions from Council and <br /> floor. Council requested a bridge or diamond at County Road E for access <br /> from South to Lexington Avenue and to Village commercial area. Highway <br /> Department to study Village request. <br /> A public hearing was held on Highway Layout and Profile 91., Vicinity of <br /> Cleveland Avenue, S.P. 6284 (35W~394). Mr. McCubrey explained that this <br /> revised plan is a little different from one formerly given preliminary <br /> . approval by Council. <br /> Mr. Bordeaux questioned distances on map as it appeared the new plan cut <br /> his property in two parts between Cleveland and Round Lake. It appeared <br /> the highway might take away access to one residence location on shore of <br /> Round rake. Council acted to study matter until next regular meeting. <br /> A public hearing was held on the proposed 1960 Village budget as pre- <br /> sented,by Stromquist, Finance Committee chairman. Mayor Ashbach reported <br /> that the Village llill rate should show little change if the budget was <br /> passed as proposed. After discussion of budget motion made by Strom- <br /> quist, seconded by Kennedy that the attached resolution re. 1960 tax <br /> levy be approved and submitted to Ramsey County Auditor. Motion passed. <br /> Peter Popovich, Fiscal Agent for sewer, recommended to Council that we <br /> sell bonds in an amount of $120,000.00 to finance Sewer Impr. #1, <br /> Projects 1 and 2. <br /> . Upon motion by Crepeau, seconded by Delange, the resolution reo bond <br /> sale as attached was approved, Moti on passed. A meeting for bond sale <br /> WaS set for November 3, 1959 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. <br /> Engineer Carley presented Council with 12 copies of Village street maps. <br /> Additional copies may be ordered if needed at any time. <br /> . Mr. George Weber, Chief Deputy of Ramsey County Sheriff's office explained <br /> a plan where Village may contract for police service from Ramsey County. <br /> Matter to be given further study by Public Sa~ety Committee. <br /> Mr, Lloyd Kin~ representing the Minnesota Pool Company offered his services <br /> on questions ouncil may have reJ swimming pools. Mr, Kind to send Clerk <br /> copies of model ordinances as passed by other municipalities on pools. <br />
