<br />. <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />'0. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />~'The <br /> <br />The <br />the <br /> <br />SPECIAL lVlEETING <br />COUNCIL OF VILXAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />Monday, May 22, 1961 <br /> <br />meeting was called to order by Mayor AShbach at 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />purpose of this meeting was to have the presentation to the council of <br />road plans for the Village of Arden Hills by Bannister Engineering Co. <br /> <br />PRESENT: AShbach, Crepeau. Stromquist, Olmen <br />Mr. Kennedy arrived at 8:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Also attending: Mr. courtney, Village Attorney. Roger Short and <br />and Carl Burandt, engineers from Bannister Engineering Co. <br /> <br />MR. SHORT stated the following: If the advertisement for bids can be <br />published this week bids can then be received by Friday, June 16. 1961. The <br />public hearing could be held perhaps on Monday. June 19, 1961. Mr. Popovich <br />stated that all three area hearings can be held the same evening or they <br />can be divided and held separately. <br /> <br />The street improvements are to be numbered the same as the sewer improve- <br />ments, i.e. street Imp. #3 corresponds to Sewer Imp. #3, Street Imp. #4 <br />oorresponds to Sewer Imp. #4 but street Imp. #5 will correspond to Sewer <br />Imp. #2. <br /> <br />Mr. Carl BURANDT then presented the maps for each street improvement explain- <br />ing in detail the plans and specifications for the proposed ro~d program. <br /> <br />.MR. VINCENT COURTNEY referred to the Walter Jamma easement #2e23 at 3330 <br />L9.ke Johanna Blvd. Mr. Jamma insists on a guarantee from the Village for any <br />damage oaused to him in the event the Village has to go into the 50 ft. of <br />cast iron pipe going through his property and a portion of whioh will be <br />beneath a section of a new addition he is putting on his home. Mr. Olmen <br />moved, Mr.Kennedy seconded a motion that Mr. Courtney insert a clause of <br />guarantee into the easement for damages and also a statement that the Village <br />will not be liable for any damage the property owner himself causes to the <br />pipe when he builds the addition onto his home. Motion carried. <br /> <br />MR. BURANDT suggested that a oompletion date of Oot. 1, 1961 and no earlier <br />than Sept. 15, 1961 were being considered. The road bids will be in the <br />form of three base bids and also one combined bid. The work will take six <br />weeks on a street with two weeks more work added to the streets having storm <br />sewers. The contraotor will haul the culverts probably to a spot on the <br />Village Hall property. <br /> <br />The area including Siems Court, Ridgewood Court and Road, Arden Flace and <br />Skiles L9.ne West of Snelling shall be graded, perhaps graveled. but reserve <br />the right to be surfaced in 1962. <br /> <br />Mr.. OLMEN moved. Mr. Kennedy seoonded a motion that bids be let at 2:30 p.m., <br />Central Daylight Savings Time, Friday, June 16, 1961. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. CREPEAU moved, Mr. Kennedy seconded a motion that former Police Chief <br />~Vic Weber be appointed as Deputy commissio,ner of Public Safety retroactive <br />"'to May 1st, 1961. Carried. Mr. Crepeau stated that he had secured per- <br />mission from the Sheriff for this appointment. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />.A <br />
