<br /> . <br /> . . <br /> .. <br /> Minutes of Special Council Meeting <br /> Vi Ilage of Arden Hi lis <br /> Thursday - 9 November 1967 - 6:00 p.m. <br /> Call to Order <br /> Acting Mayor Crepeau called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br /> . Roll Ca II <br /> Present - Trustees Crepeau, Hollenhorst, Bjorndahl and Olmen <br /> (Olmen left at 9:00 p.m.) <br /> Absent - Mayor Nethercut <br /> Also Present - Village Atty. Vincent P. Courtney, Engineer <br /> Roger Short, Water Study CommIttee Chairman Robert <br /> McNiesh and Deputy Clerk Florence Honan. <br /> CertifIcation of Election Returns <br /> Trustee Olmen moved, seconded by Trustee Hollenhorst, the adoption <br /> of a Resolution certifying the results of the Annual Village <br /> Election, as per attached; motion carried. <br /> Water Improvement 67-1. Jurgenson Property <br /> Arthur Jurgenson, owner of property through which the water line Is <br /> proposed to be Installed, had submitted a preliminary plat at the <br /> office for this property, which will be considered by the Planning <br /> Commission on November 14. He requested assurance that the plat <br /> wi II be approved as presented to avoId loss to any of the proposed <br /> lots before granting an easement to the VIllage for this construction. <br /> However, he Is most anxious for water service. Because of the time <br /> element, Trustee Hollenhorst moved the adoption of a ResolutIon <br /> authorizIng Atty. Courtney to commence condemnation proceedings to <br /> obtain the easement amd also to attempt to obtain a waiver of tres- <br /> pass from Mr. Jurgenson; seconded by Trustee Bjorndahl; motIon <br /> carried. It was declded.that should the waIver of trespass be granted, <br /> or the easement given, the condemnation matter could be discontinued. <br /> Trustee Bjorndahl also mentioned that should Mr. Jurgenson fill the <br /> pondlng area, which is located wIthin the proposed plat, the pro- <br /> posed Lake Josephine drainage Improvement would be affedted; he <br /> thought possibly the Village should consider purchasing this area <br /> from Mr. Jurgenson. <br /> Water Meter BIds <br /> Engr. Short submitted a tabulatIon of water meter bids, as attached, <br /> . that had been opened by the Clerk and EngIneer on Monday, November 6. <br /> Trustee Bjorndahl moved, seconded by Trustee Olmen that the four <br /> bids received for water meters be referred to the Village Attorney <br /> and Engineer for study and recommendation; motion carried. Engr. <br /> Short Informed the Council that the VIllage of Roseville, because <br /> of their quantity purchasing, could sell meters for Water Impr. 67-2 <br /> at about $5.00 less than Arden Hills could purchase them. <br /> - <br /> Water Connection Request - Sheehy <br /> Trustee Bjorndahl moved, seconded by Trustee Hollenhorst, that the <br /> Sheehy residence, 1505 Edgewater Avenue. be allowed to connect to <br /> the water system; motion carried. Clerk requested to so Inform <br /> Mr. Sheehy. <br /> Water.9rdlnance Study <br /> Attorney Courtney read the balance of the Water Ordinance draft, <br /> which had not been done at the special committee meeting held during <br /> the past week at his office. Atty. Courtney noted recommendations <br /> from the Council, Engineer and Mr. McNlesh concerning changes, <br /> additions and deletions. <br /> - <br /> ~ - <br />
