Ca II <br />Present - Nethercut, Crepeau, Olmen, BJorndahl, Hollenhorst. <br /> <br />Absent - None <br /> <br />, . Also Present - Engineer Roger Short, Water Committee ChaIrman <br />Bob McNiesh and AdminIstrative Clerk Lorraine Strom- <br />quist. <br /> <br />Water System for Arden Hi I Is <br />The Mayor discussed with the group current needs for settIng up <br />a water system In the village. <br /> <br />Plumbing Inspector West and Mr. Archie Marcot arrived at tho <br />meeting at 8:30 p.m. Details of the proposed water system were <br />discussed with Mr. West. An Imme~iate need appeared to be <br />for an employee to Install Village water meters and to perform <br />other tasks related to the water system. Mr. West Introduced <br />Mr. Marcot and recommended him for the Job. After further 015- <br />cusoion with Mr. West and Mr. Marcot, motion was made by Crepeau, <br />seconded by Bjorndahl, that the Village employ Mr. Archie <br />Marcot as a part time Village employee to instal I water meters <br />and other related jobs at a rate of $5.00 per meter installatlon- <br />each installation not to exceed I hour of time. For any Instal- <br />ling taking over the one hour, Mr. Marcot to be paid at a rate <br />of $3.00 per hour. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Mr. West will continue as plumbing inspector and make all In- <br />spections for Water connections. <br /> <br />Water System Ordinance <br />Upon motion by Hollenhorst, seconded by Olmen, an ordinance reg~ <br />ulating the water system of the Village of Arden Hills, provldln~ <br />for water connections thereto and charges therefor and providing <br />a I icans/ng system for water service excavators was introduced <br />by title. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Test BorinQs. Control Data Property <br />The council granted Banister Engineering Co., permission to order <br />soil test borings on Control Data pro,perty to determine suitability <br />of land as a water tower site. Easement - Harldns Property <br />Upon motion by Crepeau, seconded by BJorndahl, Attorney Salland <br />was authorized to negotiate B water easement across the property <br />owned by Harkins, cost of easement not to exceed $1,000.00. Motlbn <br />carried. Attorney Salland and Engineer Hendrickson both recom- <br />mended that the above I isted cost for ~easement was a very reasonable <br />cost for the easement and that It might cost the property owner <br />more than $i,OOO.OO to restore sod to original condition. <br /> <br />~ttar to Residents re 1968 BudQet and Tax Levv <br />Letter drafted by Administrative Clerk was revised by Council and <br />authorization given to Clerk to mall to all residents of the Village. <br /> <br />Temporary Permission for Arden Hills Connection to Roseville S~stem <br />A let';-.,r 1"0 Admin'istrative Clerk Lorraine Stromquist from Rose- <br />ville Manager Richard Turnlund, dated 10/17/67. granting Arden <br />Hills permission.
