ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—OCTOBER 28, 2024 13 <br /> Public Works Director/City Engineer Swearingen reported the species of Norway maples that <br /> were planted within Floral Park were recommended species from the University of Minnesota. <br /> Councilmember Rousseau reported the PTRC met last week and discussed their 2025 plan. She <br /> commented the group was interested in addressing encroachment issues and plantings in the <br /> coming year. <br /> Councilmember Rousseau indicated the EDC met last week as well and this group was working <br /> to visit with local business owners. <br /> Councilmember Rousseau thanked Boston Scientific for their cleanup efforts at Crepeau Park. <br /> She suggested a thank you card or email be sent to Boston Scientific thanking them for their <br /> efforts. <br /> Councilmember Rousseau stated on October 12, Scout Troop #419 and neighbors from the <br /> Floral neighborhood worked to address the flower beds in Floral Park. She recommended a thank <br /> you note be sent to this scout troop as well. <br /> i <br /> Councilmember Rousseau commented on the outreach event that was held at Hazelnut Park. <br /> Councilmember Rousseau wished everyone a safe Halloween. <br /> Councilmember Fabel thanked HKGi staff for the excellent presentation to the Council at the <br /> work session regarding the City's zoning code. He was pleased that the City would be looking <br /> more closely at the housing codes and that 500 more housing units had been added to the Rice <br /> Creek Commons development for Arden Hills residents. <br /> Councilmember Holden thanked the Arden Hills Foundation for donating pumpkins for the <br /> Flashlight Pumpkin event. <br /> Councilmember Holden questioned how residents could get more information about the PIE <br /> program. <br /> Mayor Grant stated the City's communications coordinator was drafting a timeline and pieces of <br /> information that would be sent to the manufactured home park. <br /> Councilmember Holden thanked the Gathering Place for hosting a Trunk or Treat event on <br /> Saturday. <br /> Councilmember Holden thanked the Boy Scouts for their efforts at Floral Park. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated there have been comments about why is the City only buying <br /> HOA playground equipment. She reported this is not the case and requested further information <br /> regarding the playground equipment from the Public Works Director. <br /> Public Works Director/City Engineer Swearingen explained the term HOA style play structure <br /> came from the type of equipment that was installed at Floral Park or Cummings Park. He <br /> indicated this term came up when the City began planning for the 2025 park improvement <br /> projects.
