Councilmen Stanley Olmen. E. <br />Gray Henderson, Ronald Herrick <br />Absent: Councilman John Hollenhorst <br />Also Present: Clerk Administrator Lorraine Stromquist. Attorney <br />Vincent P. Courtney, Treasurer Worth G. Read. Engineer <br />Donald Lund, Public Works Supervisor Everett Beecher <br />and Assistant Clerk. Administration Dorothy Zehm <br /> <br />ADDroval of Minutes <br />The Minutes of the Regular Councl I Meeting of August 10, 1970 were <br />approved as amended. <br /> <br />HEARING <br /> <br />Revocat I on of Ll cense for McGu Ire's Ll Quors. I nc. <br />Mayor Crepeau opened the hearing at 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney explained that the third quarterly Installment <br />of the On-S~Ie liquor license fee, due July I. 1970, has not been <br />paid and thatMcGulre's Liquors, Inc. have been notified of the <br />hearing by certified mall. <br /> <br />McGuire's Liquors, inc. was not represented at the hearing. <br /> <br />After It was determined that there has been no response to the <br />letter and that the ilcense fee remains unpaid, It was moved by <br />Councl Iman Hend~rson and seconded by Councilman Herrick that the <br />Council proceed with suspension of the On-Sale Liquor license; the <br />effective date to be determined by Attorney Courtney. <br /> <br />Councilman Herrick moved that the motion be amended authorizing <br />Attorney Courtney to aid In the preparation of a new application <br />to be ready for approval at the time the present license Is revoked. <br />The motion o~ the amendment was seconded by CouncIlman Henderson <br />and carried unanimously. The original motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Crepeau closed the hearing at 8:12 p.m. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Mr. James E. Johnson, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, owner of Valentine <br />lake View Plat No. 2, requested Council permission to negotiate <br />the blacktopping of James Circle with the bituminous contractor <br />currently engaged by the Village to blacktop Flor~1 Drive; requesting <br />that the cost of the I~provement be assessed to the remaining <br />unsold lots. <br /> <br />After discussion. the Councl I granted Mr. Johnson permission to <br />make his own errengements with a contractor; advising that James <br />Circle be constructed according to specifications prepared by <br />Engineer lund. Mr. Johnson was requested to contact Attorney <br />Courtney when an agreement with a contractor hes been made, to <br />determine the feasibility of spreading the cost by assessing the <br />remaining unsold lots. <br /> <br />Mr. John Schmidt. 1200 Tiller Lane. presented a petition Ilst-lng <br />ten (10) defects remaining In the Installation and clean-up of <br />the wafer Installation In the Tiller lane,Carlton Drive area. <br /> <br />. <br />. <br />
