The Village <br />heated, maintained, and staffed four wareing ,;helters this winter. <br />Location of these shelters are : <br />Freeway Park Hockey - General Skating -- Lighting, Fair <br />Johanna Middle School Hockey - General Skating - Lighting, Poor <br />Perry Park <br />i <br />Hockey - General Skating - Lighting, Good <br />Valentine Park tenerel Skating - Lighting, Poor <br />Neighborhood Sites <br />Mounds View High School -• The: hockey -cilia Mound-; View High <br />was flooded and cleared of snow by the Village crew to handle the <br />heavy demand for Broombali. There is no shelter at tiis site , how- <br />ever, lights are available . <br />In addition to the above parks and school sitei; , several neighborhood <br />ponds were maintained by plowing snow and flooding. These sites are : <br />Floral. Park Pend Incian Oaks Court Pond <br />Arden Manor Pond Hunter 's Park Pond <br />Pemtoti Pond <br />Participation. Report <br />Rink participants can be divided inert five categories , Lake Region <br />Youth Hockey , Bethel College Int . Brc?omb< ll, skating lessons , <br />neighborhood hockey and broomball, neighborhood general skating . <br />Lake Region Youth Hockey <br />This past season , three Lake Region hockey Teams were assigned <br />Arden Hills rinks for practice and e) ayieg home games . These three <br />were: <br />Roseville State Bank Mites Divieion - Perry Park - Coach . J . Webb <br />Countryside Rest. Squirt Divi.sios - Perry Park - Coach ; D. Metz <br />Traveling Team B Bantams - Perry Perk <br />Bethel CoUege Intramural Broomball <br />Co-Recreational Intramural Broomoali. is the mcst populer sports activlte <br />Bethel College sponsors during the ;sear . The students look forward <br />from" year to year to this program. This year 50 teams registered to <br />play. Over 700 individuals playing . Bethel Frootaball games were <br />scheduled at Freeway, Johanna.& Perry or Monday , Tuesday , and Thursday <br />nights from 8: 30 to 10: 30 . Games and pzactice were also scheduled <br />at Moundsvi_ew Hockey Rink , on Monday ,; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursc'c_y <br />evenings and weekends . The seasons run :trout January 12th through <br />February 15th . <br />Neighborhood Hockey and B_roomba] l <br />The mild weather this winter st±wu:li=.tec1 great deal of skating and <br />broomball interest in church groups , cars any teams and neighborhood <br />groups . All of the rinks were tsed more extensively t .is past year <br />on weeknights and weekends . <br />Ice Skates,, Lessons <br />Forty four (44) individuals registered i:.rr tht ice skating lessons <br />at Valentine Park this seasons .
