CONSENT ITEM - 8D <br />,!Tt <br />-ARVE HILLS <br />lu I DILVA M tX10111100y <br />DATE: November 25, 2024 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Jessica Jagoe, Interim City Administrator <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Acknowledgment for Ducks Unlimited North Suburban Ch. 239 to Hold <br />Raffle/Bingo <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motion(s) to approve, table or deny the following: <br />• Acknowledgment of the LG220 Application from Ducks Unlimited North Suburban <br />Chapter 239 for a raffle and bingo to be held on January 23, 2025 at Welsch's Big Ten <br />with no waiting period. <br />Backiround/Discussion <br />Ducks Unlimited North Suburban Chapter 239 has submitted a request again this year for <br />authorization to hold a raffle and bingo to raise money for the national Ducks Unlimited <br />charitable organization, whose mission is to protect, preserve and enhance North America's <br />wetland and associated upland habitat. Per Minnesota's Lawful Gambling regulations, they are <br />required to obtain acknowledgment from the City. This does not require a permit or license from <br />the City as it is not a premise permit. <br />As part of the requirement of LG220 Application for Exempt Permit, the City must formally <br />acknowledge the application with no waiting period, with a 30-day waiting period, or deny the <br />application. <br />Staff recommends the City Council approve a motion acknowledging the LG220 Application for <br />Exempt Permit to conduct bingo and a raffle with a drawing date of January 23, 2025, with no <br />waiting period. <br />Budget Impact <br />N/A <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: LG220 application <br />Attachment B: Non-profit letter <br />Page l of 1 <br />
