CONSENT ITEM - 811 <br />'It <br />,--AF.,DEN_ HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: December 9, 2024 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Jessica Jagoe, Interim City Administrator <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: 2025 Tobacco License Renewals <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Approving the 2025 tobacco license renewals as listed below. <br />Background <br />The following five businesses are seeking renewal of their City tobacco licenses for 2025: <br />• Holiday (Brausen) <br />• Cub Foods <br />• Cub Discount Liquor <br />• Holiday (Hwy 96) <br />• Walgreens <br />The above establishments' representatives have successfully passed a background check conducted <br />by the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office. The final issuance and release of the above tobacco licenses <br />is contingent upon satisfactory fire inspections by the Fire Marshal, but no issues are expected. <br />Please note that per Council direction earlier this fall, the City has capped the number of licenses it <br />will issue at six, which leaves one license available for a new applicant. <br />Page l of 1 <br />
