MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MN <br />AND <br />I.U.O.E., LOCAL 49 <br />Celebrating Arden Hills <br />WHEREAS, every year the City of Arden Hills holds its annual City festival, "Celebrating Arden <br />Hills" and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the success of this event that City employees work a shift during the <br />event; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works employees of the City of Arden Hills are required to work at least one shift <br />a this annual event, which is held on a Saturday in September each year; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to clearly state the work requirements as they relate to this event. <br />THEREFORE, this Memorandum of Understanding is written to summarize the City and bargaining <br />unit's expectations regarding the "Celebrating Arden Hills" event: <br />• All employees are required to work at least one assigned shift during the festival. <br />• In return for time worked, to the extent that it is outside normal work hours, the employees <br />may be compensated for time worked at: <br />o One and one-half times the normal rate of pay; or <br />o Accrual of compensatory time at one and one-half times the normal rate of pay; or <br />o The group as a whole may desire to arrange a set amount of time off as a group, as agreed <br />upon between the union and the City Administrator. <br />This Memorandum of Understanding will remain in effect from January 1, 2024 through December 31. <br />2024.
