<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />JANUARY 26, 2004 <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />9. ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />A. Deputy Clerk/Human Resources Director Vacancy <br /> <br />Ms. Wolfe stated Ms. Young had resigned as the Deputy Clerk/Human Resources Director. She <br />stated Council had discussed at a work session revisions to the job description and a restructuring <br />of staff responsibilities. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Grant moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a <br />motion to direct staff to promote Aaron Parrish to the Assistant City <br />Administrator position and to recruit for a new Community Development <br />Director. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />B. City Hall: HV AC and Mold Remediation <br /> <br />Mr. Parrish stated there were still issues with the HV AC system and mold in City Hal1. He <br />noted these problems needed immediate attention and staff hoped to receive costs from insurance <br />policies and arbitration with the contractor. He stated staff was requesting that the Council <br />authorize the City Administrator to obtain quotes to fix both of these problems. In addition, if <br />the quotes were less than $50,000, staff would further request that the Mayor be authorized to <br />execute the contracts. He noted while this was a departure from the normal procedure, staff felt <br />that resolving these issues in an expeditious manner is in the best interest of the City. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a <br />motion to direct the City Administrator to obtain estimates for HV AC <br />repairs and for mold remediation. If estimates for the HV AC repairs are <br />less tban $50,000, to authorize the Mayor to execute the appropriate <br />contract. If the mold remediation estimates are less than $50,000, to <br />authorize the Mayor to execute the appropriate contract. The motion <br />carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />Ms. Wolfe - None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden - None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant - None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem - Stated the Northwest Youth and Family Services would be having their <br />banquet on Thursday, February 5 at the Mounds View Community Center. <br />
