Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2025 Capital Equipment Replacement – Unit 318 2013 F-450 Plow Truck <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $110,000 (net) <br /> (2025 CIP) <br /> $114,626.54 (net) <br /> (After estimated auction) <br />Equipment Replacement Fund <br /> <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• 2025 purchase of a 2025 F550 Regular Cab 4x4 6.7L Diesel Truck equipped with a <br />front plow, rear sander, and dump body in the amount of $144,626.54. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The 2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes replacement of Unit 318, 2013 F-450 Plow <br />Truck. Attachment A is the CIP detail sheet which includes the latest vehicle mileage and repair <br />costs. At the November 12, 2024 Work Session, Council discussed the 2025 Proposed Budget and <br />CIP which included the Public Works Equipment Purchases. <br />Public Works staff received quotes to replace Unit 318 and equip it for plowing. The cab and <br />chassis price are $71,688.54, per the MN State Contract pricing (Attachment B). Staff was <br />informed of an approximate lead time from Ford, which is 6-8 months for cab and chassis <br />delivery. <br />Staff recommends replacement of Unit 318, 2013 F-450 truck to ensure timely delivery prior to <br />the 2025-2026 winter, also to get ahead of potential high-cost repairs, and to have a higher <br />auction value. Preventative maintenance costs from 2022, current total is $885 and repair costs
