ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – DECEMBER 9, 2024 17 <br /> <br />Councilmember Monson indicated she could defer the parks master plan to staff and if they <br />recommended the plan be completed once the new FTE was brought on, she could support this <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Jagoe stated it would take one year to complete the parks master <br />plan. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Monson moved and Councilmember Fabel seconded a <br />motion to adopt Resolution 2024-060 - Adopting the 2025 Budget, remove the <br />Cummings Park shelter building from the 2025 budget, reduce the Hazelnut <br />Park parking lot expenditure down to $100,000 and add in the $30,000 for the <br />Public Works union salary pay. The motion carried (5-0). <br /> <br />12. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Monson seconded a <br />motion to remove the Agreement for Professional Services for Public Works <br />Support Services – Engineering, Parks, MS4 and GIS – Bolton & Menk from <br />the table. The motion carried (5-0). <br /> <br />A. Motion to Approve Agreement for Professional Services for Public Works <br />Support Services – Engineering, Parks, MS4 and GIS – Bolton & Menk <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden requested further information from staff on this item. <br /> <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Swearingen explained this was the engineering services <br />proposal from Bolton & Menk. He indicated he had an engineering services contract that he was <br />involved with in 2021 and 2022. He noted services were discontinued with the latest consultant <br />and staff was looking to renew a contract for engineering services in order to support GIS, <br />engineering, parks, MS4 and general engineering services on an as-needed basis. He reported the <br />budgeted amount for 2025 was $90,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant indicated the item before the Council was to consider the agreement for <br />professional services and not the amount. <br /> <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Swearingen reported this was the case. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden questioned if the City was spreading the engineering work between <br />several consultants. <br /> <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Swearingen stated the City utilizes a few other <br />consultants as well. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Monson seconded a <br />motion to Approve Agreement for Professional Services for Public Works <br />Support Services – Engineering, Parks, MS4 and GIS – Bolton & Menk.
